Comics for the week of Monday, August 13, 2001   This was one of my favorites at the time. Note Penguin calling the dog a 'dumb dog', a theme that would play later when Penguin meets the puppy. The storyline here where Mr. Bear breaks his leg came to me in an airport when I was visiting my future wife. I saw this little girl holding the most ragged looking pink teddy bear that had electrical tape on one of it's legs. It was so pathetic, yet adorable. I thought how Penguin would probably also tape up his teddy bear's leg.
